  3. How do I perform a self-check of the Gladius mini?
    Turn on the Gladius mini→ Connect the Gladius WiFi→ open the APP→ Click the top right icon→ Click the self-check tab.
  4. About the Gladius mini calibration settings.
    In general, no calibration is required if the machine is behaving normally. Before calibrating the accelerator, level and depth functions, please lock the motors first. Next lay the Gladius mini flat on the ground. Then restart the Gladius mini after each calibration process. If this process still fails then please also restart the Gladius mini and try again. This process may take a few tries before all calibrations work properly.
  5. About the Gladius mini live stream functions.
    The Gladius mini supports Facebook live and YouTube live streaming. The go-live buttons are located in the function key on the left side of the APP control interface.

  6. How do I format the SD card?

  7. About the power curve setting on the Gladius mini.
    The left-hand side diagram is the linear force, where the acceleration is constant. The right-hand side is the nonlinear force, where acceleration is not consistent.
  8. Where can I find the Gladius mini APP version information?

  9. What does the DV function do?
    It works by reducing exposure time to minimize image drag. It only works in video mode.
  10. I am unable to take photos or videos, and there is an error message that pops up.

  11. Why does my android phone "live image" show up gray on my phone screen?
    Some android phones have this problem with H.264 function, and please switch to MJPEG stream type then restart the Gladius mini.
  12. What can I do if there are other software issues I can't solve?
    Please provide a screenshot or short video. Also, add your Gladius mini's serial number to team@wanderlustdrones.com.
  13. How does the file download system work on a PC or MAC computer?
    Connect your computer to your wireless network then connected to the Gladius WiFi signal. Then you can download via wifi your files by accessing IP address 192.168.1.88 in your browser.
  14. Does the ISO and shutter speed work in video mode?
    Those two features are not currently supported, and this feature may be activated in the future in a firmware update.
  15. Why does the mini loose power when I try and change camera or drone settings?
    We are concerned that users may accidentally touch the joystick when changing settings. If we didn't lock the controls, there would be a higher chance of collisions with rocks, animals, or reefs.

  18. What's the difference between H264 and MJPEG stream types?
    H.264 pros/cons
    + reduces bandwidth and storage consumption significantly
    + adaptive video quality based on bandwidth
    + suitable for storage
    + / – complexity setup – sometimes tricky to set up – streaming quality, frame rate, and frame rate. GOP, VBR, CBR, etc.
    MJPEG pros/cons
    + consistently great image quality
    + robustness, if one frame is dropped, then it does not affect the video
    – no sound
    – consumes much more bandwidth and storage
  19. My phone connects to the Gladius WiFi, but my laptop cannot search the Gladius WiFi?
    The default WiFi frequency is 5Ghz. Your laptop only supports 2.4Ghz wifi. Please press the “reset” button on the Base Station after the machine is turned on to switch 2.4Ghz wifi frequency.
  20. What is Bluetooth mode and what does it do?
    This feature is only for the handjoy handle (Gladius Pro Remote), it solves the problem that some cellphones have connecting to the handjoy remote. If your phone cannot connect to the handjoy handle, try switching the Bluetooth mode.
  21. What is the Hardware decoding priority feature?
    Android devices support hardware and software decoding, iOS devices only support hardware decoding.
    Hardware decoding is more power-saving and efficient than software decoding, but the compatibility is lower than software decoding.
  22. What is the Board level calibration and what does it do?
    Used for calibrating the level sensor to avoid assemble deviation. Lay the Gladius mini flat on the ground to keep it level then restart the Gladius mini after clicking the level calibration.
    Note: It is not necessary to calibrate the level, depth, accelerator calibration if the Gladius mini is working property.
  23. What is Depth calibration and what does it do?
    Used for calibrating the depth sensor to confirm that the Gladius mini can lock depth and display correct depth values. Lay the Gladius mini on the ground then restart the Gladius mini after clicking the depth calibration.
    Note: It is not necessary to calibrate the level, depth, accelerator calibration if the Gladius mini is working property.
  24. What is the RAW IMU?
    This is the original value of the sensors for developers or professionals reference.
  25. What is the safe operation mode?
    This function allows you to operate Gladius mini while changing sidebar settings such as White Balance, ISO and shutter speed settings. To operate this make sure the function is off. When you turn on the safe operation mode, it will not allow you to operate the Gladius mini while changing the settings of the sidebar, such as White Balance, ISO and shutter speed settings.
  26. Why do android phones need to use the MJPEG?
    Most android phones don't work well with H.264 and may have gray screen, so we recommend the more compatible MJPEG.

Motor

  1. What is the KV rating of the motors in the Gladius mini?
    The motors are 720 KV rating.
  2. How often should I change the Gladius mini propellers?
    The only time you should change the Gladius mini propellers is if they break while using.
  3. Why do the motors run out of control automatically after unlocking in the water?
    When you push the propellers unlocking button on the remote controller, the Gladius mini default is depth-locked mode so the motors will run automatically.
  4. What do I do if the Gladius Mini motors lock up on me?
    There needs to be maintenance work done on the motors, please contact support@chasing-innovation for cleaning procedures.
  5. What is the top speed of the Gladius Mini?
    The top speed is 2 meters per second or 4.4 mph.
  6. What is the maximum flow resistance of the Gladius mini?
    The maximum flow resistance of the Gladius mini is 4 knots or 2 meters per second.
  7. Can I replace the motors or propellers by myself?
    Yes, you can replace the propellers and motors by yourself, but please contact team@wanderlustdrones.com for guidance.
  8. Can I take the motors apart and still be under warranty?
    No, you can not take apart the motors and still be under warranty. Once the motors are taken apart your warranty on the Gladius mini is void.

  1. What is the battery capacity of the Gladius mini, base station, and remote controller?
    The battery of the Gladius mini is 55.5Wh (5000mAh) The Base Station is 29.25Wh (2500mAh) The remote controller is 400mAh.
  2. What is the battery life of the Gladius mini?

    Please check the small light on the adapter, and a red light means the Gladius mini is charging, when you see a green light this means the Gladius mini is fully charged.

    No, the battery is not removable.

    It is a 3A/12.6V charger.

    No, it is not waterproof.
  2. The remote control bracket spring clip broke, can I buy a new one?

  3. Can the remote controller hold an iPad or tablet?
    Yes, it can hold an Ipad or tablet up to 10.5 inch.
  4. What is the connection frequency of the remote controller?
    The connection frequency of the remote controller is 2.4GHz - 5GHz.
  5. What is the wireless distance between the smart device and the controller?
    The wireless distance is 32 ft (10 meters) between a smart device and the controller.
  6. How long does it take to charge the remote controller fully?
    About 1 hour.
  7. What is the battery life of the remote controller?
    The battery life of the remote controller is 5 hrs.
  8. How do I confirm the remote control batteries fully charged?
    The four green lights on the right will stay lit. Each light represents 25% power.
  9. Why doesn't my remote controller connect to my phone or tablet device?
    *Please read the user manual carefully. Android devices need to ensure that all permissions are turned on when the Bluetooth connection screen pops up.
    *Some old and uncommon mobile phones may be unable to connect to the controller, and it is suggested to try other smartphones.

  10. When I charge the remote controller, why is the remote controller charging lights not on?

Base Station

  1. Is the base station waterproof?
    No, it is not waterproof.

  2. What is the size and weight of the base station?
    The size is 5.9 inches X 4.2 inches X 1.7 inches (149 mm x 106 mm x 43 mm), and the base station weighs 0.88 lbs (0.4 kg).

  3. What is the wireless Wi-Fi distance I can be from the base station?
    32 ft (10 meters) wireless Wi-Fi distance from the base station.

  4. What is the battery capacity in the Base Station and how long does it take to charge?
    The battery capacity in the Base Station is 29.25Wh (2500mAh). One hour to charge the base station.

  5. What is the battery life of the Base Station?
    The battery life of the base station is 6 hrs fully charged.

  7. What is the HDMI input in the Base Station?
    You can get real-time scenes through Gladius Mini underwater camera with an external monitor or TV.

  9. What is the SD card slot in the Base Station?
    Purpose: Place an SD card into the Base Station, and the Gladius Mini will store a small bitstream video with OSD information (temperature, depth, relative angle, and tilt angle) on the SD Card automatically when shooting the video.

    1 Check the capacity of the SD card: APP [Settings]->[about]

    2 Find the OSD video in the lower right corner of the app media and find OSD sign, it supports previewing.

    3 The OSD files will be deleted automatically when the corresponding original video files are deleted.

    Note: The function of recording content and photos to the external SD card slot in the base station has not been activated yet and will be enabled through a firmware update in the future.

  10. What if the Base station doesn't charge, the light on the adapter does not show green or red during charging?

    Please press the “reset” button on the Base Station after the machine is turned on to switch wifi frequency.

  13. What is wrong if the Gladius mini lights start to blink?
    Make sure the drone body and the base station are fully charged, and make sure the tether connectors are connected tightly. If the light still flashes, it means there is something wrong with the connection between the Gladius mini and the base station. Drone Body

  1. What are the Gladius Mini's advantages compared to the Gladius Pro?
    The Gladius Mini supports ±45° adjustable Tilt-Lock mode, and a key Depth-Lock Mode, and it's easier to control. We have added mature internal design and more reliable quality.
  2. What is the size and weight of the Gladius Mini?
    The size of the Gladius Mini is 15 inches x 8.9 inches x 5.4 inches and the total weight is 5 lbs (2.27 kg).
  3. What are the pre-dive safety measures before using?
    *Make sure the battery is charged before using the Gladius Mini.
    *Gladius mini should be used in open water where the water quality is relatively clear, and there is no dense seaweed or weeds in a lake area.
    *Do not turn on the drones LED lights before entering the water.
    *Do not use in pools with high chloride amounts or other chemicals to avoid corrosion.
    *Do not run drone motors out of water for more than two minutes to prevent ceasing the thruster motors.
    *Before use, check for water on the tether connectors. If moisture is present, wipe with the Gladius provided towel.
  4. What are the post-dive safety measures after using?
    *Please use fresh water to wash the drone body and dry with a towel, then store in a cool storage area.
    *Do not put heavy objects on the Gladius mini to avoid damage.
    *Please charge the battery if the power level is less than 25%.
    *Keep the battery at 50-80% when idle to extend the battery life of the Gladius Mini.
  5. How do I judge if the Gladius Mini has started up properly?
    After the base station is turned on, the drone LED lights will flash. Accompanied by two self-test sounds. The drone ROV indicator on the base station will stay lit.
  6. Where can I find the serial number on the Gladius mini?
    The serial number is on the bottom of the Gladius mini body. The base station and remote controller. Or you can find it on the APP-settings-system-about.
  7. How do I clean the sand out that gets inside the Gladius body?
    Remove the buoyancy weight from the drone body, then rinse the drone body with freshwater. If that doesn't work, you can ask the support team for help opening the shell. Please note that if the shell or other accessories are damaged, the customer warranty will be void.
  8. Why does the machine move forward or backward in 45°tilt mode?
    The current hardware technology is not able to keep the fixed position in 45° tilt mode. Users can keep positioning by slightly pushing reverse or forward on the joystick.
  9. What do I do if the Gladius mini WiFi does not connect to my phone?
    *Make sure the battery is fully charged, and the tether connectors are connected securely.
    *Check if the drone body started up properly and the base station ‘ROV’ indicator light on the base station is not flashing. You can also record a video and send it to the support team for help.
    *Try another phone and manually set the IP address and subnet mask (static) IP: 192.168.1.20~192.168.1.80 Mask: 255.255.255.0
  10. My phone connects to the Gladius WiFi, but I cannot open the APP camera interface?
    Try to delete and reinstall the APP then restart the machine. If you have another phone or tablet, try them as well. It could be a compatibility issue with your phone, please contact team@wanderlustdrones.com and provide your phone model and system model.
  11. Can the battery of the Gladius mini be replaced or removed?
    The battery is built into Gladius mini and cannot be removed. The battery needs to be replaced at our service center, or we may have to replace the whole main cabin directly. Please contact team@wanderlustdrones.com for details.
  12. How do I calibrate the compass of the Gladius mini?
    *First, make sure your phone's compass is accurate. The lower left relative angle and 3D image depend on the phone's compass and machine's compass, the error will be zero only when the compass and data are the same. The top compass data is only coming from the Gladius mini's compass. An failure of up to 30 degrees is normal, especially in iOS devices.
    *Calibrate the Gladius mini in an open area instead of in a high metal environment. Metal objects easily disrupt the compass.
    *You can refer to the video in the “live calibration” section of the APP, make sure the machine is calibrated in every direction it directs you.
    *If the calibration fails, restart the machine and try again. Also, for a successful calibration, you are required to reset the Gladius mini.
    *If  after several attempts it's still not accurate, but the phone compass is correct, please contact team@wanderlustdrones.com for help.
  13. What can I do if the Gladius mini doesn't move on remote control commands?
    *Make sure the motor is not stuck on a rock or anything that can fit in the motor shaft area.
    *Check whether a custom joystick setting has been set in the APP remote setting page and whether it is adequately set.
    *To troubleshoot the remote control issue, please test with the virtual joystick option on your device.
    *Lay the Gladius mini flat on the ground to keep it level, then calibrate the accelerator according to the instructions, then restart the Gladius mini if it fails or succeeds.
